Sweet with an Edge

If you know me, or read my blog, you probably also know that I love vintage floral dresses. I especially love this one because it has my favorite color (cream, yes), a belt (thank you for giving me a waist), lace at the neckline, the daintiest blue flowers, and the classic cut, but with a slightly shortened hem line. Making it a little bit sweet, with a little bit of edge πŸ˜‰ I had to remove the shoulder pads, of course, and add an extra hole in the belt, but other than that it was good to go!

This time I wore it on a hot early evening, while roaming one of my favorite neighborhoods in Minneapolis, the North Loop. Wearing dresses always seems to make me feel happy and pretty, no matter what else is going on in my life. I love wearing these random pieces I love, and being true to myself in that sense, even if they may not be the “norm”. I even find it often brings joy to those around me as well, just seeing me wear some intriguing piece of clothing ha. And that makes me even happier πŸ™‚ In this way, I find style can be such a positive way for me to practice living in authenticity and also serves as a great conversation starter!

If you like it, if it brings you joy, wear it. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. I think this was $5. But it’s 100% me.

Because I love bricks ha.
